Sign in and password reset

Who this is for​

This guide is for existing ShortUrl.bot users who need to sign in, recover a forgotten password, or understand how sessions work.

Before you start​

  • Know the email address you used when you created your account.
  • If you signed up with a Microsoft account, use the Microsoft sign-in option instead of entering a password manually.

What to do​

Sign in​

  1. Open the ShortUrl.bot website and go to the Sign-In page.
  2. Click the Continue button.
  3. You are redirected to a secure sign-in page hosted by our identity provider.
  4. Enter your email and password, or choose the Microsoft account option if that is how you registered.
  5. After successful authentication, you land on the Dashboard.

Reset a forgotten password​

  1. On the secure sign-in page, click the Forgot Password link.
  2. Enter the email address associated with your account.
  3. Check your inbox for a password-reset email and follow the instructions to set a new password.
  4. Return to the sign-in page and sign in with your new password.

Session management​

  • Your session stays active while you are using the app.
  • After a period of inactivity, your session expires automatically and you will be asked to sign in again.
  • Signing out manually is recommended when you use a shared or public computer.

Use it well​

  • If the password-reset email does not arrive within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder.
  • Use a strong, unique password that you do not reuse across other services.
  • If you manage a team workspace, make sure each team member signs in with their own account rather than sharing credentials.
