Create your first short link

Who this is for

This page is for anyone creating a first production link, whether the link will be shared in a campaign, support message, product launch, or internal workflow.

Before you start

  • Confirm the destination URL is final and resolves correctly.
  • Decide whether you need a first-party domain immediately or want to add a custom domain later.
  • Choose a short, readable back-half if your use case benefits from named links.
  • If you see an older 2s.gg link in your history, keep it only for that existing asset. New short links should use the current default domain or an active branded domain.
  1. Open the homepage quick-shortener or the authenticated links workspace.
  2. Paste the destination URL and confirm it is the exact page you want people to reach.
  3. Select the short domain. Use a first-party domain for speed, or a branded domain if your workspace already has one connected.
  4. Add an optional custom back-half when you want a readable or campaign-specific slug.
  5. Create the link and copy the returned short URL.
  6. Test the new short URL in a private browser session before you publish it widely.
  • Keep the back-half readable, short, and consistent with your naming standards. Good slugs are easier to validate in campaigns and support workflows.
  • If the link has a fixed campaign window, plan lifecycle settings next. The main links workspace supports status controls and expiry behavior after creation.
  • If the destination is sensitive or user-submitted, run it through Link Inspector before distributing the short URL.

Access note: anonymous users can explore the first-link experience, but account-level defaults, custom domains, lifecycle controls, and historical management work best inside a signed-in workspace.
