What this page covers

This page provides quick solutions to the most common issues ShortUrl.bot users encounter. If your problem is not listed here, contact support through the dashboard.

Frequently asked questions

My short link returns a 404 error

Check that the link has not been disabled, expired, or removed from the dashboard. Open the link in the Link Inspector to see its current status. Verify that the destination URL is still reachable. If the link was flagged by a safety review, it may have been blocked automatically — see Security and abuse for next steps.

My QR code will not scan

Make sure the QR code image is printed or displayed at a large enough size (at least 2 cm / 0.8 in per side) and has good contrast against its background. Test with a different scanner app or phone camera. If the QR code links to a short URL that has been disabled, the scan will succeed but the redirect will fail — check the underlying link status on the dashboard.

I cannot sign in to my account

Confirm you are using the correct email address. Try the Forgot Password flow on the sign-in page to reset your credentials. If you registered with a Microsoft account, use the Microsoft sign-in option instead of entering a password. Clearing your browser cache or trying a private/incognito window can resolve loading issues on the sign-in page.

My custom domain is not working

Verify that your DNS records match the values shown on the Custom Domains settings page in the dashboard. DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate fully. Confirm the domain shows a Verified status in your dashboard before creating links on it. See Custom domains for the full setup guide.

My analytics are not showing

Click data can take a few minutes to appear in Performance Insight. If the link was just created, wait a few minutes and refresh the page. If data is still missing after an hour, confirm the link is active and has actually received clicks. Bot-filtered traffic is excluded from analytics by design.

I was charged after cancelling my subscription

If you cancelled after the billing cycle renewal date, the charge for that period is expected. Check your cancellation confirmation email for the effective end date. Your access continues until the end of the paid period. If you believe the charge is an error, contact support through the dashboard or review the cancel and refund policy.
